Research
Measure choices in context.
My Political Matrix treats political outlook as a set of related directions rather than a single ideological line. The work is versioned, testable, and open about its limits.
Research philosophy
Good measurement starts with a clear construct, a concrete decision, and an explanation of what the evidence can and cannot support. The product distinguishes a person’s political identity from patterns in their recorded responses.
From values to choices
Question families explore values, applied preferences, policy mechanisms, and institutional tradeoffs. Conditionality matters: a preference in one situation may not be a durable position across every context.
Validation is ongoing
Cognitive testing, pilots, item analysis, reliability, structural checks, retest work, and subgroup review inform later versions. Uncertainty and evidence coverage remain visible because a result should not imply more precision than its responses support.
Research use and limits
Aggregate and appropriately de-identified information may support statistical analysis, methodology development, and product improvement. Respondents are self-selected, and the current Matrix is not a representative population benchmark.
See the technical methodology for version contracts and the validation roadmap.
