Terms of Use

A clear agreement for using the Matrix.

These Terms govern your use of My Political Matrix, operated by American Polling Company. Effective September 16, 2026.

Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using My Political Matrix, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. The service is intended for people who are 18 years or older. Do not use it if you are under 18.

What the service does

My Political Matrix presents questions about political situations and organizes your responses into a multidimensional profile. The assessment, result, uncertainty, evidence, and version information are provided for informational, exploratory, and research purposes.

A Matrix is an estimate based on the responses and evidence available in a particular version. It is not a definitive statement about your identity, how you vote, your party, your morality, or your intelligence. Results can change after additional responses, a retake, a model or question-set change, or a baseline change. We do not guarantee a particular result, availability, or a specific level of precision.

Using the service responsibly

Use the service lawfully and respect other people’s privacy. Do not interfere with the service, probe or bypass access controls, submit malicious code, impersonate another person, or use automated access, scraping, or extraction in a way that burdens or abuses the service. We may restrict or terminate access that is abusive, unlawful, or threatens the service or other users.

Sharing and your content

You choose whether to create a public result link. Anyone who receives a public link may be able to view the limited Matrix information on it, so consider where you post it. You are responsible for the links and feedback you choose to publish. The underlying assessment responses and contact records are not part of the public share artifact.

You keep rights you have in feedback you submit. You give American Polling Company permission to use that feedback to operate, evaluate, and improve the service, without requiring us to publish your identity.

Intellectual property and third parties

The service, its software, design, text, Matrix presentation, and related materials belong to American Polling Company or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership. Infrastructure and email delivery may be provided by third-party services described in our Subprocessors page.

Changes, availability, and disclaimers

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service and may update the methodology, questions, baselines, or presentation. We will update these Terms when they change materially. The service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose, and that a Matrix will accurately characterize any person.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, American Polling Company will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
